Numeracy: Data Handling and 2D Shapes
This week we combined looking at shapes with Carol and Venn diagrams. The LA group did this physically with whiteboards and hoops, whilst the MA/HA groups worked directly into their books. This worked really well as their were plenty of shapes available for MA/HA if they needed it and the LA were able to consolidate their knowledge with concrete experiences. Combining both these aspects of numeracy (data/shape) worked really well I think because it gave the children a "real" aspect to the data handling.
